Johan and Lisa de Blieck

Johan was born in Holland and came to the US with his family when he was 2 years old. He has two brothers and one sister, all married with children. He attended school in Rochester, graduating from East Ridge High School, and then obtained his degrees from MCC and Buffalo State College. He has a teaching degree and graduate work in Industrial Arts Education. In his early career, he worked for the Veteran’s Administration Hospital and then Eastman Kodak in the area of process engineering and as an education specialist in the health imaging division. In recent years, he has used his health imaging/engineering expertise to start his own business servicing health imaging equipment for hospitals and imaging centers. He played soccer in college and since then on many leagues, enjoys skiing and all things mechanical. He has been renovating an old Victorian home for the past several years and does small engine repair. He is an active member of the Flower City Work Camp Planning Program and enjoys being a “roadie” for the musician members of the family and enjoys helping with setup at church.

Lisa was born and raised in Huntington, Long Island, and has two brothers and one sister. Lisa has been playing piano since age 5 and sang in many choirs, youth and adult praise teams, choruses, and musicals, and was an accompanist for choirs throughout her youth. She taught children’s Sunday school and led children’s worship throughout the years and also ran the children’s music program at a private school and for its summer camp while in college. She earned her undergraduate degrees from MCC, Roberts Wesleyan and graduate degree from SUNY Brockport and works for the University of Rochester in the Clinical Trials Coordination Center as a Program Manager for Huntington’s disease research. She is a soprano in the Rochester Oratorio Society and the Resonanz select choir, and enjoys all things musical as well as cooking. She enjoys leading worship, volunteering at Kingdom Bound and other musical events, particularly as a Child Advocate for Compassion International, and participating in Flower City Work Camp.

Johan and Lisa were college sweethearts, married in 1976 and have two grown children, Jessica and Justin.
